Research Materials - This video combines films taken at my Grandfather's house in Canberra Australia, in which he tells me about the copper and gold deposits he found in Papua New Guinea, when the country was an Australian colony. This is combined with audio recordings of Claytus Yambun, an anti-mining activist from the Sepik River region in PNG who explains that while the people of Papua New Guinea have rights to 97% of the land, this only applied to the surface, to the depth of sixteen feet.
